Things that caught my eye during the walk
I'm planning to walk this route (Haagse Bos) from Staatsbosbeheer, because out of research a lot of expats live in Den Haag. You have very big companies in this city where businessman expats work. Het Haagse Bos lays close to the Central Station. Expats travel a lot, especially with public transport. I hope to find inspiration for my interface during this walk and trying to think like my user. What are their needs? What goes wrong? etc.
- No wifi
- No plug connection
- Can't see the laptop
screen in the sun
What goes wrong?
How can my user easily work in nature?
I've started with sketching, but I felt kinda lost. The only thing I know is that I want to make an interface for my expats that is useful for them. They are always working and even when they walk in nature, they have their electronic devices with them so they are always available for work. First I was thinking of solving the problems that made it difficult for my users to work in nature. For example the problem when you're working outside, in the sun, you can not see your screen. I wanted to design a sort of box where you can put your laptop in. The box creates shadow so you can see your screen and can still sit in the sun.
The white and red dots on the trees are my inspiration for my interface. These dots/marks are the system of tracking and leading. The user can follow these marks to a certain point.
I want to make an app where you can see the route of staatsbosbeheer and your location. On the map will be dots where you can find a 'businessman expat survival kit'. It's a kit with tools that makes working in nature easier.
